The Wedding Singer

Now back on for July 2022

"THE '80's ARE BACK WITH NOSTALGIC VENGENCE"   Based on the smash-hit Hollywood movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, comes a hilarious musical comedy that celebrates all the fun of the 80’s.

Following sold out performances on Broadway, across the UK and Australia, this feel-good smash features your favourite characters, and a sparkling new soundtrack that does for the 80’s what hairspray did for the 60’s.

The First Wine Tour of 2022!

February saw some crazy weather in our region with some of the worst centered around Katikati. Luckily our wine tour group who mostly came from Katikati missed it all as we headed south to the Wairarapa. Travelling one day behind the carnage, we saw plenty of downed trees and slips on the road, but none that stopped our progress, even the flooding around Martinborough did not impact our route.

Festival of NO lights!

Despite the New Plymouth Council literally pulling the plug, our trip to the NO Lights Festival went ahead in January

Some clients pulled out as they really wanted to see the light shows but a smaller group went ahead and what a great time we all had.

Despite the less than favorable weather forecast we ended up with some stunning days, ideal for visiting the many public and private gardens ( many opened up especially for us).

Lets hope 2023 will see things back to normal with the "Lights On" again.

2022 Kicks off overseas!

We began 2022 with the first of our overseas trips, unfortunately this was still within NZ due to COVID restrictions on international travel.

The first of a number of Stewart Island visits this year had a small group of 9 guests enjoy our trip to the bottom of NZ.

Flying into Dunedin instead of Invercargill for this tour we visited Gore on the trip down SH1 to Invercargill.  Stunning weather on the island made our visit all the more enjoyable and we saw plenty of wildlife on our Ulva Island visit.  and packed in a lot more during our 2 day stay in Dunedin.

2021 Christmas on Waiheke

2021 ended in style for our group of 16 happy travelers who departed for our annual Christmas getaway.

The weather was stunning for the whole trip and with the additional day on the island we had plenty of time to enjoy some more of the amazing wineries on Waiheke.  The extra day also gave us some down time to really relax.

We have already reserved our rooms for 2022 so if you want to be sure of a place then all you need to do is place a $200 pp deposit and your place is booked.

Hawkes Bay & Wairarapa

Just returned from a new 6 day tour to sample the best of these two great regions.

Our small group of 18 guests enjoyed some amazing weather over the 6 days and we avoided the couple of rain showers as we were travelling by coach.

Highlights of the trip were the Gannet Colony Tour at Cape Kidnappers and the guided tour of Brancepeth House in the Wairarapa by the owner Ed Beetham.

With a few wineries along the way to sample some great wines accompanied by lovely lunches and dinners, we all came home a little heavier than before!

Given the glowing feedback from all on the trip this is definatly a trip we will be repeating in 2022. See here

WOW 2022

Postponed in 2020 and 2021, the WOW show is now back on in October 2022.

After the disappointment of the last 2 years, its great to have a new date for one of New Zealand's most successful stage and fashion events.

Join us as we travel to Wellington for 3 days and 2 nights exploring our capital city with the highlight being Platinum grade seats at the World of Wearable Arts 2022 show.

We fly with Air New Zealand to Wellington and return by the Northern Explorer Train, what a great way to see more of the stunning North Island.

The Lion King

What a great success the first post COVID performance of this acclaimed show was.

Due to customer demand we ended up running 5 coach trips to Auckland for our growing number of clients throughout the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions from the 11th to the 18th July.

Feedback from 99% of the people who travelled with us to see this stage extravaganza was 100%, with just one couple leaving at half time as "it was not their thing".  Just goes to show you can not please everyone all the time.

So keep an eye on our web site and sign up for our weekly newsletter to be sure to secure your seats on the next great show heading our way.

Breast Cancer Night Walk

For the 6th year running we were pleased to be able to support this great charity event. We used 4 of our tour minibuses and coaches to ferry close to 350 very wet walkers back to the car park. A big thanks to our volunteer drivers, Christine, Brian and Richard who did a great job on a nasty night. This is what the organiser wrote:

A special thank you to Mount Classics Tours.  Ian and his team provided minibuses and drivers to take everyone back to their cars after the walk.  Their team are so friendly and the walkers enjoy the contact they have with them.  It was a messy job this year with rather a lot of mud to be cleaned up from inside the vans on Sunday.  Ian, you and your team are amazing. We know this has been a hard 18 months for your business and your community spirit is second to none.

Christmas on Waiheke

December 2020

What a great time we had on our Waiheke Island trip this Christmas, the weather was perfect and our group of 25 travelers really enjoyed each others company.

We first spent a couple on days in Auckland seeing the sights of the city plus a trip out to the west coast gannet colony at Muriwai. Christmas Eve we dined at the Orbit Restaurant atop the Sky Tower, amazing views and wonderful food and service.

Christmas day we took the ferry to Waiheke and after checking in to our beach front accommodation headed out for a special Christmas lunch. With three days on the island we had time to both explore many of the sights and also relax in the glorious weather.

Our next day in Wellington started with a guided tour of the Scale of War Exhibition, time for lunch and then a guided tour of the best bits of our National Museum of Te Papa.  A short city sights tour on the way to the airport for the afternoon flight back to Tauranga rounded out the day.

Oct/Nov 2020

Our first long duration tour of the season since taking over Hinterland Tours. Twenty travellers from the Tauranga area embarked on am 11 day / 10 night program. Bay of Islands and Northland

September 2020

We have just completed our first Hinterland tour this season, a 5 day visit to the Bay of Islands and Northland. With six of our original group of 16 travelers cancelling at the last minute due to Covid19 concerns, we ended up with a friendly group of just 10 on our luxury Mercedes Benz 18 seater minibus, so plenty of room all round. The weather was stunning the whole way and certainly lived up to the winterless north reputation.

We will be repeating this tour in February and April 2021 but will be extending the program to 7 days and 6 nights so we can see more but also have more time to relax, see here.
